Building on the success of the
SureStart Whitley Local Programme
SureStart Whitley Children’s Centre works with parents to be, parents and children up to the age of 5 years living in the area. Services are delivered through a network of locations including schools, community centres, the health centre, church halls and the sports centre ensuring that activities take place within easy reach of the whole community.
Our aim is to improve the health and wellbeing of children and their parents. This is achieved by the dedicated team working together, and with partner agencies, in order to secure the best outcomes for children and families through innovative work and good practice.

The services available at the Children’s Centre will include:
• Healthcare support
• Parenting and family support
• Information and advice on benefits, work and training
• Adult learning opportunities with crèche support
• Parent/carer toddler groups
• Speech and language support for local children and families
• Midwifery drop-ins and breast feeding support
• Fulltime & sessional childcare & education will be available
• Activities for children and families
