Crèche
The SureStart Whitley Children's Centre crèche can accommodate up to 12 children, aged 3 months to 4 years, in each session. The crèche sessions normally last between 2 and 3 hours. Crèches are provided so that SureStart parents can access a range of courses such as IT and First Aid. The crèche is Ofsted registered and provides a safe and stimulating environment for the children to play in. We currently have a trained staff team of 7 crèche workers offering a range of activities for the children such as painting, singing and story times as well as playing with toys. Healthy snacks are provided and the workers see to all the children’s personal needs.

Buttercups
Buttercups offers 1 session a week for children on the waiting list for Sunflowers sessional care from the age of 2 years 6 months. The sessions run on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 9.30 to 11.00am during term time at SureStart Whitley Children's Centre. This session enables the children to become familiar with being in a group setting and routines. This helps both parents and children during what may be a difficult transition period as the child becomes more independent. Parents may be asked to stay for several visits to help the children settle.
