Who are we?

The Family Visiting Team at Sure Start Whitley is employed by NHS Berkshire West and based in the Whitley Health Clinic. We are three trained Nursery Nurses and a Mental Health Nurse working along side the Sure Start Whitley Teams and the Health Visiting Team to provide health, development and parenting support in the home to parents of children under five years.
Anna our Mental Health Nurse also provides mental health and well-being support to the parents of children under five years.

What do we do?

The Nursery Nurses offer 1:1 support in the home with:

• • • • • •	managing children’s challenging behaviour understanding and developing play skills potty training sleep difficulties fussy eating and healthy eating accessing groups
Anna our Mental Health Nurse offers 1:1 support in the home for parents with:
• • •	post natal depression anxiety depression

Every Child Matters – You Matter too!

We also run:

‘Baby Talk Baby Play’a parenting programme for 0-2 year old children to help parents understand their child’s developmental stages. Click here for more information.

‘Tiddlers/ Gigglers' a drop-in baby and toddler group for parents with children under 2 years. Click here for more information.

'Safety in your home' – a one off safety visit in the home to help protect your child from accidents or infections caused in the home. Click here for more information.
